Vox Audio Group History

Vox Audio was born as “Toxic Audio” at the 1998 at the Orlando Fringe Festival. The concept was simple: create a fun, interactive theatrical show, where the star was the human voice. The show was an instant hit with fans and critics, hailed by The Orlando Sentinel as “surprising, dazzling, and brilliant.” Vox Audio soon caught the attention of Disney executives, who hired them to perform daily at Walt Disney World’s MGM Studios. After winning first place in the National Harmony Sweepstakes and being named “Best Pop Group in America” by Ed McMahon’s Next Big Star, the group spent some time as top-ranked guest entertainers on Royal Caribbean cruise ships.

In 2004, Vox Audio opened to rave reviews Off-Broadway. The Village Voice called them “A Sensation!” and Time Out New York said, “Don’t Miss it!” The off-Broadway production also won the prestigious Drama Desk Award for “Unique Theatrical Experience”.

Soon the Vox Audio garnered national attention with appearances on ABC-TV, FOX, and ESPN 2’s “Cold Pizza”. Their album, “Chemistry” was named “Acappella Album of the Year” by the Contemporary Acappella Society of America and was featured on radio stations across the country, including Sirius Satellite Radio.

In the years following, Vox Audio performed for sell-out crowds at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and toured internationally throughout parts of Asia, South America, and Europe. Wherever they go, Vox Audio continues to delight audiences world-wide by exploring the boundaries of the human voice.

Vox Audio's 90-minute theatrical show is a hit with audiences ages 7 to 70. It met with rave reviews, winning the coveted Lillie Stoats Award for Best Musical Production in Central Florida. Described by reviewers as "a musical experience unlike any you'll ever see or hear," the dialogue-less show combines original skits, quirky musical numbers, improv, and backflips, in a style often compared to the productions of Stomp and Blue Man Group.

Vox AUDIO is the perfect corporate act. Unique talent with an electrifying presentation combined with professionalism and flexibility. I look forward to seeing them on site as they ALWAYS deliver a flawless show. They are a Producer’s dream!

"My Favorite Vox Moment: Seeing the smiles on my students' faces as they were able to experience music in a different way...
I know I've said to you all before, but I just wanted to "publicly" thank you all for continuing to inspire so many young musicians to "think outside the box". Specifically, all the students at Herricks High School are truly affected. Your impression on them (as you know) is remarkable and will surely stay with them for a very long time. I hope many more schools will benefit from such a monumental musical experience."
-- Anissa Gonenn, Herricks High School, Long Island NY

"I have been a long term Vox fans since you guys performed at my school (Winter Spring High School) My freshman year. I am now a senior. I was fascinated by the style and made it my only music preference for over a year. I studied various artists such as 4:2:Five, American Vybe, and Rockapella, but my main focus was Vox Audio. I taught myself to beat box, figured out how the instrument sounds were made, learned your voices so I could break down your music and teach it to my friends, the starting pitch for "Voice Carry" is one of my two memorized notes, I even went as far as to write down and learn the "Cough-Sneeze" background for "Lime in the Coconut" which at the time was a song only heard live. I would not stop until I could do at least a pitiful version of everything you guys do flawlessly.

What I'm trying to say is thank you. There are a couple artists that I would give credit for the musician/singer I am today, and Vox Audio is right up there on the list. I have learned so much about music by watching you and listening to you. I've trained my ear, arranged my own music, raised my range, and can kinda sound like a harmonica :) Without you, I would not be where I am today. Thank you.
    Sincerely",
-- Steinhauer- VP Thespian troupe 5777- Jazz Ensemble- Advanced Women's Chorus- Proud originator of "I'm Never Mimicking Paul Sperrazza Again" Jazz Comp.- Working on getting my own a cappella group together.

The Toxins came to my school and performed a clinic/ workshop with about 110 of my vocal students. I cannot express how extraordinary they were with the students. The kids talked about it all day long. Thank you, thank you, thank you...... you really helped to fuel the sparks that I had started in August. Hope to have you back again next year
--  Michael McKee, Denn John Middle School, Kissimmee, FL

"They are excellent teachers as well as excellent musicians, who are able to mix games with fundamental learning, which I really, really like."
-- Sherry Pilgreen, Music Teacher, Wichita Collegiate School

"Vox exceeded all my expectations. Their workshop was fun and informative and gave the students an opportunity to reflect on the many roads they have to choose from."
-- David Patrick, President, Keynote Arts Associates

"When I grow up, I wanna be in Vox Audio!"
    -- Charlie Fleming, student
